Reccomended Crossbars for Carrying 2 Kayaks on a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser
Question:
Hello, I would like to install two Hullavators on a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser. I do not currently have a roof rack installed and the factory OEM racks have been discontinued. Are there any specific brand racks that would work better with the Hullavators? Additionally, what size and model of crossbar would you recommend? Thanks in advance!

There is a way for you to carry 2 kayaks on your 2007 FJ Cruiser, but using 2 sets of Thule Hullavators # TH898 will not work. One set of Hullavators requires about 31 inches of crossbar space. This means that if you wanted to install 2 sets of Hullavators on your FJ Cruiser you would need a crossbar width of at least 62 inches. The only roof rack that has crossbars that can accommodate 2 Hullavators is the Inno Crossbars #INB165, Feet # INSUT, and the Custom Fit Kit # INK580.
Even though the Inno crossbars will fit both Hullavators, they have a weight capacity of 120 lbs. Since one set of Hullavators is about 40 lbs, installing 2 sets would take up 80 lbs which would leave you only 40 lbs of weight left for 2 kayaks.
What I recommend using is the Inno 50 inch Crossbars # INB127 with the Feet # INSUT and Custom Fit Kit # INK580, along with the Thule Stacker Kayak Carrier # TH830.
I will include some demonstration videos for you as well.
