The Curt Trunnion Style Weight Distribution System, 800 TW, 8,000 GTW, part # 17301, is capable of tongue weights up to 800 lbs and a gross towing weight capacity of 8,000 lbs.
To choose the correct weight distribution system for your trailer you will need to determine the tongue weight of your 30 foot camper. The tongue weight is calculated as 10 to 15 per cent of the overall trailer weight. Then, add any weight that is behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle to your tongue weight of the camper. This total tongue weight capacity should fall within the 800-lb tongue weight capacity that is on the Curt WD system to work correctly. Using a weight distribution system that has too low of a tongue weight rating would be ineffective and using a system that has too much of a tongue weight rating will lead to a slightly stiff ride.
