Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring on 2005 Ford F-50 Not Functioning

Hi the lights on my boats trailer are brand new and have been acting up lately. Im led to believe that wiring harness on my 2005 F150 is the problem if I purchase Part number C56031 will this fix my problem?

Typically when trailer lights are acting up the problem is actually the grounds of the light assemblies or the ground of the main trailer connector. If you can ensure the grounds are making a solid connection and verify that there is no corrosion in the connectors that will most likely take care of the problem. If there is corrosion clean it out with a wire brush or sand paper.

You also can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the pins of your current 4-way to see if the connector does need to be replaced like in the video I attached. If it does need replacing the part # C56031 would work for your 2005 Ford F-150.
