Thule Tires Chains for 315/35R20 on 2017 BMW X5
Question:
I am looking for Thule snow chain for my 2017 BMW X5 All wheel drive rear tire size 315/35/R20 but only see online for 2016 X5 with same tire size. Does that mean it wont fit my 2017 X5 and may damage the vehicle due to less clearance issue etc.? Car manual and dealer doesn't recommend using chains for my tire and wheel type.

The Thule Premium Self-Tensioning K-Summit XXL Snow Tire Chains # TH02230K66 are going to be the best tire chains for your 2017 BMW X5. The most likely reason BMW doesn't recommend using chains at all is becuase of the lack of clearance between the tires and any parts of the vehicle. The biggest advantage of the K-Summits is that they ride on the vehicle's tread and don't require any internal clearance.
Another feature of the K-Summit chains is how easy they are to install. All you need to do is place the chain over the tire and connect them to a wheel nut or wheel bolt and then drive. The chains will automatcially self tighten and center onto your wheel as you drive. I've attached a video of the chains on a 2008 X5 you can take a look at.
