Recommended Axle Kit That Will Add 2 to 4 Inches Of Clearance To Your Trailer
Question:
I have a tandom axle trailer. The spring hangers are 3.5 inches long. If I put a 4 inch hanger in the middle will it lift the trailer?? I need about 1 inch more clearance

Adding the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs - 3-1/4" Front/Rear/Center, # APT5, will give you a little more clearance, but it won't gain you the 1 inch you are needing with the spring deflection.
Another way to lift your trailer would be an over-under conversion kit. This would add way more height to your trailer...probably closer to 4 inches more. This will change the center of gravity on your trailer too, so it is more prone to effects like sway, but will solve your clearance issue. For a 2-3/8 inch axle, I recommend the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit, # K71-384-00. For a 3 inch axle, I recommend # K71-385-00.
