The 20-1/2-inch 5th wheel hitch leg spacing you mention is one of those included in industry-standard 5th wheel base rails like those in the linked photo as well as on tow-prep-package adapters like the Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Ram # DM6099. Reese offers a similar Ram adapter # RP30154.
So long as the RBW 5th wheel hitch you have is designed to fit industry-standard 5th wheel rails - and is a slider type suited to your short bed truck - it will work.
