The most important factor for a weight distribution system is the total tongue weight. That includes the trailer tongue weight as well as any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. You want that total tongue weight to be in the middle of a weight distribution system's tongue weight rating.
For your Kingsport 259rbs trailer, I recommend a the Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w Sway Control - Trunnion Bar - 12,000 lbs GTW, 1,200 lbs TW, # RP66084. This system is for tongue weights between 600-1200 lbs. This Strait-Line includes the adjustable shank and trunnion spring bars to creat a level ride for both your trailer and your tow vehicle. One of the best features of this system is the dual cam sway control. This system actually constantly fights against sway based on its trunnion bar design with these cams. The bars overcome the cams for turning and then automatically reconnect for straight driving. The spring bar tension is adjustable with the links in the chain. This system is designed for 2 inch trailer hitches and does allow backing up without disconnecting. You will need a hitch ball with your system, so for a 2 inch ball use # A-90 or for a 2-5/16 inch ball use # 19286.
If you have a 2-1/2 inch trailer hitch receiver, you will want the # RP66074 system along with the Reese Titan Weight Dist Shank, # RP54976. This is the same system but designed for use with a 2-1/2 inch trailer hitch. You will still need a hitch ball like those listed above for this system.
