Using any adapters in the trailer hitch on your Rogue will reduce the hitch capacity by 50 percent.

Since you are using your hitch for a bike carrier you may still be within the weight capacity of your hitch. If you have a 2-inch receiver opening I recommend an adapter like part # RM-076. This adapter offers a 6-inch rise or drop and may give you the needed clearance for your tail lights.

We do not have an adapter with a rise or drop like this for a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening.

If it is the license plate that you are worried about that is concealed you may want to consider mounting the plate in a more visible location. If you have a horizontal area on your bike carrier that you can mount a plate to I recommend a plate holder like part # LP15SB. This would allow you to display the license plate when carrying your bikes and you can then put the plate back on the Rogue when you are not carrying bikes. You do need to remember to move the plate back to the vehicle when not carrying bikes or there could be issues with that as well.
