Will Curt Trailer Hitch # C11048 Fit 2011 Ford Mustang Convertible, Stabilizer Strap Recommendation
Question:
I want to verify that this can be used on a convertible Mustang 2011 V6. Also, it says stabilizing straps are needed for using the hitch for non supported loads. Where can I get these straps and what are they strapped to?

The Curt Trailer Hitch, # C11048, is designed to fit all models of the 2010 and 2011 Ford Mustang including the convertible model. According to Curts warranty, on all Curt class I and II trailer hitches, a stabilizing strap must be used on all non-trailer loads such as bike racks and cargo carriers. You can use Curt Stabilizer Strap # 18050, or another strap of your choosing as long as it supports the load. I have included a link to the numerous straps we carry below.
There is no specific place the strap needs to be attached because on every vehicle it will be different. For a traditional hanging bike rack, one end will attach near the top of the upright bar, the other end can attach to the top lip of the trunk lid. You also may be able to run the strap through the opening at the top of the trunk lid (when the trunk is open) feed the line through a little, and then close the trunk on it. This will keep the hook inside the trunk.
