Tire Recommendation for Trailer to Replace 235/75-15

Question:

Hello!!! I just purchased a homemade flatbed trailer ... that needs new tires. A couple friends told me etrailer is the best place to go for trailer parts and advice! And advice is something Im going to need alot of on this trailer! 1st question: should I replace with the same size tire. Right now it has 235/75R15, and Im fairly sure those are passenger those on my trailer. The trailer has two 3 , 500 lbs axles ... HOWEVER it is only LICENSED for 3,000# ... so I really dont think Ill ever haul more than 3,000 at a time. Should I replace with a 235/75/15 trailer tire, load range C .... or is there a better option? ?????? Thank you very much! !!!

The size you listed is not a trailer tire size so you will want to get them off there as soon as you can and install ST rated tires that are designed for trailer use.

The closest tire size to what you have that is trailer rated is 225/75-15. For a tire you would want the Taskmaster tire # TTWTRTM2257515D. What's great about this tire is that unlike most trailer tires it is rated for up to 81 mph. Most trailer tires are only rated for 65 mph. These have way more capacity than you would need but that's not a bad thing at all.
