A 2015 Subaru Crosstrek would require a different hitch from what fit a 2001 Subaru. Subaru makes pretty substantial changes to their vehicles every few years so the hitches are constantly being redesigned.
You would need a Curt hitch like the part # C13135 for your 2015 Subaru.
