Parts Needed to Install Brake Controller in a 2015 Toyota Tacoma without Trailer Wiring

Question:

I have a 2015 Toyota Tacoma base model 4x4 double cab WITHOUT the towing package. I plan to purchase a 3200 lb camper and I need to set up my truck for a 7 pole harness so that I can use the trailer brakes as well as the running lights, turn signals, and brake lights. I dont have any type of plug for towing. Please give me a list of necessary harnesses and parts to make this conversion as painless as possible. Thank you for your time.

You will need to start with a 4-way since you don't have one. For that you would want the # 118496.

From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
