The Ram Box feature is not ideal on a short-bed truck that will do 5th wheel towing due to the chance for interference but we have heard of successful Sidewinder installations. The correct 5th Airborne Sidewinder to replace a 1621 or 1621HD pin box is part # RP61422 that you referenced. This box also fits in place of several Fabex and M&M pin boxes.

However, since it is rated for only 16K it will not have the necessary capacity for your trailer. We do offer the non-cushioned 20K-rated Sidewinder # RP34FR but there is no 18K or higher-rated cushioned option for a 1621.

Your hitch options depend on how the truck is configured. You can use the Select Vehicle Style drop-down menu tool at the top of the linked page to choose your truck's set-up. I suggest a 20K hitch to give you some safety margin.

If you have the factory rail kit you could use the Reese # RP30918 which is compatible with the Sidewinders and will need the custom wedge kit # RP44FR. If you do not have the factory rail kit then you can use the B&W install kit # BWRVK2605 and their 18K Patriot hitch # BWRVK3255 along with wiring kit # C56000.
