Recommended Roof Cargo Basket to Mount Yakima Front Loader Bike Rack for 2016 Jeep Renegade

Question:

The Yakima Load Warrior basket will allow you to mount a Yakima or other branded bike rack to the top of the basket. I have a Yakima Front Loader bike rack, and I am shopping for a basket that it can mount on top of. This will all be mounted to a 2016 Jeep Renegade. Thank you.

I contacted some manufacturers for you regarding the compatibility of your Yakima FrontLoader Bike Rack, # Y02103, with a Cargo Basket.

For a cargo basket that will allow you to mount your FrontLoader Bike Rack, your best option is going to be a Yakima cargo basket, like the LoadWarrior # Y07070 you mentioned.

I also looked at your 2016 Jeep Renegade Owner's Manual. The manual states that the load carried on the roof, when equipped with a luggage rack, must not exceed 150 lbs, and it should be uniformly distributed over the cargo area. If you have the retractable roof, the manual states you are not to use it when using the roof rack crossbars. The 29 lb Rocky mounts cargo carrier or the 25 lb Yakima cargo carrier and the 18 lb bike rack would allow you 103-107 lbs of other cargo in the roof mounted cargo basket should you choose to utilize these parts together.
