How Does The EZ Lube Spindle # TRU74FR Work On A Boat Trailer
Question:
I recently bought a used boat trailer.I believe the spindles are the #TRU74FR.There is a hole,in the center, on the inside end of the spindle. When you add grease from the outside fitting, it comes out of this hole. Is there supposed to be a grease fitting in the inside end of the spindle?

On the EZ Lube Spindle # TRU74FR you do not need a grease fitting for the hole on the inside end of the spindle. This is an EZ lube spindle which is designed to allow you to put grease onto the bearings by using the zerk fitting on the threaded end of the spindle. You will not want to block the hole that is on the inside end of the spindle.
When the hub is installed on the EZ lube spindle it will form a cavity around the wheel bearings and when you pump grease into the spindle through the zerk fitting it will fill the cavity with grease and allow the bearings to be greased and will keep water from getting to the bearings.
I would also recommend the EZ Lube Grease Cap # RG04-040 to go with the EZ lube spindle. This grease cap will have a removable plug that will allow you easy access to the EZ lube fitting on your spindle.
Also, I am sending a video link to a demonstration of how to repack trailer hub bearings. It will show the EZ lube spindle and it describes how it works.
