Recommended RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller For 2011 Toyota Highlander
Question:
I am wanting to use a Radio Frequency Electric Brake system on my 2011 Toyota Highlander to tow my 2016-17 ft Casita trailer. What would you recommend? Thank you!

The wireless brake controller I recommend for you is the Tekonsha RF, part # TK94FR. This is a proportional brake controller that senses when the vehicle is slowing and sends the signal to the module mounted on the trailer that applies the brakes.
You will need a 7-way trailer connector at the rear of your Highlander. If you have a 4-way on your Highlander all you need to do is install the adapter part # 37185 by plugging the 4-way of your vehicle into the 4-way of the # 37185 and then running the black wire from the adapter through a 40 amp breaker like part # PK54540 to the positive side of your vehicle battery and you would be ready to install the # TK94FR. I have attached a drawing that shows how the wiring us run for the # 37185.
I also attached a link to an installation video for the RF brake controller you can check out.
