Can a Trailer Battery Get Charged by a 12 Volt Accessory Circuit from a 7-Way
Question:
Can I put a 12 volt car battery in my utility trailer and wire it to the black/battery wire on my 7-pin connection to keep it charged? The trailer already has a brake battery being charged but it is not large enough to power the new electric tongue jack which I want to use at times but not plugged into truck.

Yes, what you are interested in doing is something that is very common for people who have powered jacks on their trailer. You should note that a wire ran from the 12 volt circuit of the 7-way will only put a maintenance charge on the battery and would not charge a dead battery. But if the battery has a good charge on you will be able to keep the battery going for as long as possible between charges with this method.
You would want to run 10 gauge wire from the 7-way to the battery like part # 10-1-1 which is sold by the foot.
I attached a link to a page that has wiring diagrams for trailers for you to check out as well.
