How to Pick Out Hub and Lighting for Harbor Freight Trailer
Question:
Hi, I have a 4x8 utility trailer, harbor freight kind, it has the 4 lug wheels and hubs. I would like to carry a jet ski on it which would mean that it will be backed down a boat launch. This will be fresh water only so I think the trailer can handle being wet. However, the bearings and lights on the current set up probably can’t handle water well. I believe this is the hub that would go on my trailer for reference AKIHUB-440-2-1K What hubs and lights would I need to retrofit this trailer to be somewhat water compliant?

You are going to have to pull a hub off your trailer to determine if the hub you referenced would fit it. We have to match either spindle dimensions or bearing numbers to know if the part # AKIHUB-440-2-1K is a correct replacement.
The bearings of this hub are:
Inner bearing: L44643 (1" inner diameter)
Outer bearing: L44643 (1" inner diameter)
For a submersible LED trailer light kit the part # TLL9RK is our most popular submersible option and would work well. I attached an install video for more info.
Its recommended that you unplug the trailer wiring when you back the trailer into water.
