The trailer wiring harnesses for the 2005 Toyota Tacoma to power the lights on a trailer all plug in line with the vehicle tail light wiring. The most popular wiring harness for your truck is # 118496. I have included a link to a video showing an example installation for you.
If the trailer has a 7-Way connector and electric brakes then you would also need # ETBC7 and a brake controller. For a brake controller I recommend the easy to set up and use P2 # 90885. I have included some links that show and explain the ETBC7 installation for you as well.
