A great trailer hitch for your 2004 Mercedes-Benz ML350 is the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Receiver Hitch # 75087. This has a 2 inch receiver and does not require any drilling for installation. It does however, require temporarily removing the rear fascia of the ML350.
The wiring kit, to install a 4-way, is the Kit # C59236. I've attached a video showing the installation. I'm not exactly sure of the current connector that is on your car, but we do not carry an option that isn't a hardwire harness.
If you're going to be towing with your Mercedes you may like the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit # 989900 that includes 2 ball mounts with a different rise and drop, 2 different sized hitch balls, and a pin and clip.
