Wireless Backup Camera for Use on the Back on a 20 Foot Airstream Travel Trailer

Question:

Any reason this would not work as a trailer backup camera? Does it have a sginal reach from back of 20airstream to truck cab. Is the field of view good for this use? I like the idea of totally wireless.

For a backup camera you can use at the back of your trailer I recommend the digital version of the Swift Hitch camera # SH02Digital. The digital signal will not suffer from the same possible interference issues that can affect other wireless systems.

The camera has a 300 foot range but you will to put as few obstructions between the antenna on the camera and the monitor. Mounting the camera up high on your trailer will help with that. You will also be able to see more of what is around the back of the trailer with the camera mounted high.

The use of any backup camera is going to help you when maneuvering the trailer. The Swift Hitch cameras have "night vision" making baking up in the dark easier. The system does not get spliced into any of the vehicle or trailer wiring, it runs off of rechargeable batteries, so installation is easy and it is easy to move from one vehicle or trailer to another. I have linked a video review of this camera system for you.
