Brake Controller and Install Needed for 2013 Toyota Highlander with 4-Way
Question:
I installed the Curt 56217 wiring adapter kit in my 2013 Toyota Highlander SE with factory towing package. Now I would like to install a Tekonsha P3 brake controller. I would like to use the Tekonsha plug and play harness, but the under-dash receptacle is being used by the wiring kit. Is there a t-connector or other adapter available so that I can plug in both the Curt wiring and the P3 controller?

From the wiring harness you installed part # C56217 you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.
This comes with everything needed to install the Prodigy P3 part # 90195 which is a great choice by the way. This is arguably the nicest brake controller available and would work well for you.
