The connector you will need to install the Draw-Tite Activator Brake Controller, item # 5504, to your 2004 Nissan Titan is the Tekonsha Wire Replacement for Nissan, part # 3050-P. This adapter has a 6-pin connector that mates with the factory brake controller 6-pin connector located under the dash of your vehicle. The factory connector is located left of the steering wheel column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal.
This connector has all of the circuits needed to power the brake controller and send the brake signal out to the 7-Way RV trailer connector at the rear of the vehicle. The only wire that is connected from the brake controller to your 7-Way is the blue wire which is the wire that sends out the brake signal to to the 7-Way.
Once the brake controller and adapter are installed you should be ready to tow as long as your vehicle has the factory 7-Way connector at the rear. If you do not have the factory 7-Way you will need the Factory Style 7-Way and 4-Way Flat Vehicle End Trailer Connector - Nissan, item # N40975, to complete your towing setup. This kit includes the needed relays to activate the trailer wiring on your vehicle. We have an excellent video, see link, showing the installation of a similar trailer connector on a 2006 Titan.
