Probable Tow Package Wire Colors and Functions on a 2007 Chevy Silverado, New Body Style
Question:
My buddy just bought a P3 controller from you and wants me to wire it up. Can you tell me what color wireswith tracers from the 5 bundle under the dash connect to the corresponding wires on the controller? I would really appreciate that because i only have about an hour and a half to screw around with the truck and could never trace the wires out in that time. I havent even been under its dash yet so this could be a dummy question as in all wires are properly color coded thank you

Wiring color and corresponding function varies among vehicle manufacturers and most of the time, they do not match up with the color/function on brake controllers like the Tekonsha P3, # 90195. For a 2007 Chevy Silverado, the Red/Black wire will attach to the brake controller black wire. The light blue/white wire will attach to the brake controller red wire. The white wire will attach to the brake controller white wire. The dark blue wire will attach to the brake controller blue wire. The remaining wire, brown or orange, on the truck will not be used.
There will also be some connections that need to be made under the hood for the brake controller to function. I have included an FAQ article that explains this process for you to view below.
