Replacement Spring Bars For Curt Weight Distribution System To Increase Tongue Weight Capacity
Question:
I have a 6-800 lb Curt wd hitch. I want to pull a trailer with 1100lb tongue weight. Can I go with heavier arms or do I need a whole new hitch setup. Thank you for your time.

I called my contact at Curt and they told me you can just replace the spring bars on your weight distribution system to be able to handle the increased tongue weight.
I have attached a link to the replacement spring bars for Curt systems you can check out. You did not say if you have a round bar system or if your system uses trunnion bars. You can go to the provided link and find the right bars for you or let me know what type system you have and I will be glad to make a recommendation that will work for you.
If you have a round bar system I recommend part # C17117. This is designed for tongue weight from 1000 to 1500 lbs.
If you have a long trunnion style system I recommend part # C17337. This spring bar is also designed for 1000 to 1500 lb tongue weights.
