Platform Bike Rack Recommendation for Electra Townie Bike Rack
Question:
Will this type of rack work with a step through Electra Townie bike - no cross bar for the hook to catch? If not what kind of hitch mount bike rack should we consider for our 2011 Toyota Highlander to carry my Townie plus my husbands Specialized mens bike?

Your Electra Townie does have a very low top tube on the frame. If you wanted to use the Chinook part # S64683 you would have to use an adapter bar like part # UB01 to give the rack something to grab onto.
Otherwise you would need to go with a bike rack that grabs the bikes by the tires instead. The closest rack to what you referenced that we offer for this would be the Kuat Transfer part # KU74FR. I attached a review video for this rack. This would be the route I would recommend over the Chinook and the adapter.
