Does Bumper on 2006 BMW X3 have to be Trimmed to Install a Trailer Hitch
Question:
Can this hitch be installed on a 2006 X3 without notching the bumper? If not, is there a product that can be, one that goes completely under?

All of the trailer hitches for your 2006 BMW X3 including # 13573 require some trimming of the rear fascia. I have included a link to a video showing an example installation of this hitch for you.
If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # EBMK4. It comes with a ball mount with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop, interchangeable ball set, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
And for trailer wiring I recommend # 119250KIT to add a 4-Way flat connector to the rear of the vehicle. With it you will not have to cut and splice into the vehicle wiring.
