For your 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid you will first need a base plate kit like the Roadmaster # 4406-1 which is designed for your Hybrid model.
This base plate kit will be compatible with the Roadmaster Tow Bar # RM-576, you were looking at, and will be a good fit for your Escape because it can tow up to 8K and your vehicle's curb weight is right around 4K. It also includes the safety chains and the wiring umbilical.
The Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251 is a great braking system for your Hybrid. Once installed you activate it just by flipping a switch.
Some other items to consider when flat towing are:
a Wiring Kit for your Escape # RM-152
and possibly a High/low adapter, I have added a link of all our high/low adapters
I found some important instructions in your owner's manual on page 205.
I have linked all the above mentioned parts as well as some installation videos and Help Articles on flat towing for your convenience.
