Demco Hijacker Auto Slide Fifth Wheel Hitch and Rail Kit Recommendation for 2016 Ram 2500
Question:
Im debating on which model to purchase....the 18K or the 21K? They look almost identical and the 5th wheel Im towing wont be close to either of these max limit. Should I pay the extra $170 for 3000lbs of capacity for future use? Is the 21K model stronger? I have a 2016 dodge ram with a cummins. I think max towing is 17K. Is the 18K unit lighter?

If all you need is the capacity of the 18 Demco Hijacker part # DM8550034 that's what would be your best option. It's about 30 lbs lighter than the 21k version part # DM8550035. Unless you really like the diamond plate that is on this hitch.
For fifth wheel rails you would then want the custom install kit part # DM8552025-71 that will minimize drilling and install time when compared to a universal kit.
