Recommended Hitch Mounted Bike Carrier For Dodge Ram 1500 To Allow Lowering Of Tailgate
Question:
I need to replace a Thule docking station which was damaged in an accident. According to your video, the Thule T2 Pro does not allow the tailgate on a Didge Ram1500 to open fully, even when tilted back. Can you tell me if the Kuat NV 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack - 2inch Hitches will clear to let the tailgate open on the Dodge? Thanks

With a bike loaded in the Kuat NV 2.0, part # NV22G, you will not be able to open the tailgate completely on your 1500, but I do have a solution for you.
I recommend a swinging bike carrier like the RockyMounts BackStage # RKY10002. This carrier swings out of the way for full bed access even with the bikes loaded. I have attached a link to a product demo video of this carrier you can check out.
