Recommended Trailer Hitch For 2017 Subaru Forester
Question:
Hello, I have a 2017 Subaru Forester XT and would like to know if the Hidden Hitch #87654 would fit and if it is still available on etrailer? I cannot seem to find it. I like that installation doesnt require enlarging the fourth hole. Also, is there a class II equivalent? Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.

The Hidden Hitch trailer hitch is no longer available and has been replaced with the Draw-Tite Max-Frame, part # 75876. Hidden Hitch was made by the same manufacturer and is exactly the same as the Draw-Tite version.
Enlarging the holes on the vehicle are not always required but can be easily done with a rotary tool or a file if needed.
We do offer a Class ll hitch for your 2017 Forester. It is the Curt, part # C12100. This hitch has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening.
I recommend going with the Class lll hitch because it offers many more options for hitch accessories with the 2-inch receiver opening.
If you plan on doing some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
If you plan on towing you will need a trailer connector is you do not already have one. For your Subaru I recommend part # C59496.
