The towing capacity for your 2012 Honda CR-V is 1500-lbs. This really limits the items you are able to tow with your vehicle.

The trailer hitch I recommend for your Honda is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch, part # 75742. This is a Class llll hitch and it has a 2-inch receiver opening.

For towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.

If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.

From my research I found that a typical 19-ft boat will weight about 1500-lbs. Add the trailer and the motor and the weight may be quite a lot more than your CR-V can handle.

If the boat, trailer and cargo weigh less than 1500-lbs you are good to go. You will need a brake controller since you said the trailer does have brakes. If you do not have a trailer connector on your Honda I first recommend part # 118561. You will then need part # ETBC7. I have attached a drawing that shows how the wiring is run when installing the # ETBC7.

The brake controller I recommend is the Prodigy P2, part # 90885. This is our most popular brake controller because it is easy to install and operate.
