2013 Mazda CX-5 Compatibility withThule Aeroblade Edge with Thule Canyon XT Cargo Basket
Question:
I have a CX-5 with factory OEM roof rails. Id prefer to keep the existing roof rails although its low profile design might have some issues. I like the Thule Aeroblade Edge for its versatility over the dealer crossbars with aftermarket products and having the least amount of wind noise right off the bat. I like the style, aesthetics and locking features of the Thule Canyon XT. However, the wildcard of this setup is whether it would clear the shark fin radio antenna. I know that the Canyon XT has an angled rear end to clear the hatch door. Both have locking options that appeal to me as well. Would this setup work? If not, are there risers or some workaround I might be able to do to have enough clearance? I like each product individually for my vehicle. But, if I had to choose one over the other , it would be the Vagabond X over the Aeroblade Edge on my vehicle. Thanks for any insights on this.

For your 2013 Mazda CX-5 the shark fin antenna would not be a problem for both the Thule Aeroblade Edge roof rack part # TH7503-TH7503 and the Thule Canyon XT Roof Cargo Basket - Steel - 49" x 40" x 6" - 150 lbs, part # TH859XT. It would fit easily. If needed you could slide the Thule rack as far forward as possible on the roof rails and the use the rear most rails of the Canyon XT to attach to those crossbars. You also need to add the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders - Qty 4, part # TH450400, to lock this basket to your vehicle.
I have included product description links and a video review link below.
