A roof rack like part # SR1010 can be used to carry a roof cargo box. It is a semi-custom roof rack that has a 90-lb weight capacity when installed on your Edge. The weight of the cargo carrier and any cargo is considered in this capacity.

Every vehicle and roof rack does have a weight capacity so you will want to be aware of the weight limit of 100-lbs your Edge can handle. Roof boxes also have a crossbar spread requirement, so when choosing a cargo box you will need to know what the center to center distance is for your crossbars. The crossbar spread on your Edge when this rack is installed is 26 inches.

A nice roof cargo box that will work on your Edge is the Thule Pulse Medium Rooftop Cargo Box, part # TH614. This cargo box has 14 cu ft of room and will fit the spread of the SportRack crossbars.

You can also take a measurement to determine if you can open the rear hatch on your Edge with a cargo box installed. This is called front clearance. It is the distance from the center of the front crossbar rearward to the seam that separates the rear hatch and the roof. For the # TH614 the front clearance needed is 42-5/8 inches.
