The trailer wiring harness I recommend for your 2016 Ford Edge is the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118669. This wiring harness is designed to fit Edges like yours that are neither Sport or Titanium models.
The T-One Wiring Harness # 118669 will plug into your Edge's wiring behind the vehicle's taillights. This will not require you to splice into the factory wiring at all. You will need to run a power wire for the harness's powered converter up to the vehicle's battery so that the trailer taillights will be powered by the battery rather than the vehicle's wiring system. I've attached the installation instructions for this wiring harness for you.
