Expert Reply:
Your 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser is not wired at the dash for a plug in brake controller wire harness, but you will still be able to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, # 90885. You will have to hardwire the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, # 90885, to your vehicle with the Brake Controller 7 & 4 Way Installation Kit, # ETBC7.
The # ETBC7 Installation Kit, comes with a new 7-Way and 4-Way connector which will plug into the 4-way trailer connector on the back of your vehicle. The 4 remaining wires will be hardwired to the vehicle. I am sending a link to detailed instructions on how to install the # ETBC7 kit on your vehicle.
If you do not have the factory 4-way trailer connector on the back of your vehicle you will use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector, # 118405. This part will tap into the vehicles wiring harness behind the taillights, located behind the drivers side and passenger side trim panel. There is no cutting or splicing of wires. Since it does include a Modulite, you will need to run a wire to the front of the vehicle and connect to the positive post of the battery.
I am sending a link to a page with the instructions on a Tekonsha P2 brake controller installation and the # 118405 wiring harness installation.
I am also sending a good two part video link that will show the brake controller and ETBC7 kit being installed on a 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser.
