Smallest Trailer Tire that has a Speed Rating Over 65 Miles Per Hour

Question:

Okay, so I hate that my mini camper cant go over 65mph when most limits are over this speed. Are there any special tires, or maybe a nominal size increase can help raise the max speed? They are rated at 790lbs, and lightly loaded... So I figure they are at 50max. I might be able to add a larger tire by some modification. I literally just got home after 6800 miles after picking it up. But the fender is bolted on to a metal strip.... I might be able to make it bigger. Anyway. What are my options for getting my trailer up to a 70-75mph speed?

In order to go over 65 miles an hour when towing your trailer you will need to go to a 13 inch tire and wheel such as # TA43RR which is rated for 81 miles per hour. If your current hubs/wheels have a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern then you will not have to change the hubs.

But if they have the 4 bolt pattern then you will also have to replace the hubs. To see if there are hubs that fit I would need to know the inner and outer bearing numbers stamped into the sides of the bearings.

The smallest 13 inch size is a 175/80-13 and it is 3.6 inches taller than what you have now. Half of the height difference is applied to the top of the tires so that is 1.8 inches. You would need about 4.8 inches above the existing tires to go to the taller tire and have enough space for the suspension to travel up and down.

The 175/80-13 is also about 2.1 inches wider than what you have now meaning the larger size will be 1.05 inches closer to the trailer. So you would need to have more than 1.05 inches of space between the inner sidewall of the tires you have now and the trailer.
