If you have no green light on your Voyager Brake Controller # 39510 when your trailer is connected the most common causes are either corrosion on one or both of the trailer connectors, or a loose power or ground connection to the controller.
First inspect both the trailer plug and the socket on the Yukon for any signs of even slight discoloration on the metal contact surfaces. Even slight discoloration can indicate oxidation/corrosion that could be interfering with the controller sensing the connected trailer's brake circuit. You can use a spray-on contact cleaner like Caig De-Oxit and/or a fine bristle brush to remove the corrosion. Dielectric grease # 11755 will protect those clean connections.
You can also check that both the +12V and ground wire leads for the brake controller, the black and white wires respectively, are securely attached to the battery. The +12V wire should run through a 20- or 30-amp breaker and the ground should run directly to the negative battery terminal.
