Recommended 2-Kayak Carrier for 2016 Subaru Outback Wagon with Factory Roof Rack and Crossbar
Question:
Im lookin for a good roof mount kayak carrier for a 2016 Subaru Outback. We have two basic kayaks and need something easy to load so my wife and her sister can use it. I saw the Thule Stacker on your site, but no reviews for 2016 Outback carriers. Please give me your recommendations. Thanks

Good news! I checked with Thule and the Stacker # TH830 is a confirmed fit for your factory roof rack and factory crossbar on your 2016 Subaru Outback Wagon.
The Stacker is a great kayak carrier for kayaks no longer than 10 feet long and can handle up to 4 kayaks. It also includes the securing straps and bow and stern tie-downs to secure your kayaks to the vehicle while in transit. This carrier will also fold down when not in use.
I've had the pleasure of loading a kayak on a vehicle a time or two and have found that the J-Style carriers like the Thule Hull-A-Port # TH834 are by far the easiest for me (an athletic woman 5'7" tall). They do only carry one kayak up to 36 inches wide, so for two kayaks you will need to get a quantity of 2 Hull-A-Ports # TH834. This type of carrier will cradle the kayak, so you won't have to be sure to mount it in exactly the right way when loading it on the roof and then try hold it in place while you adjust it to get ready to be secured with the straps. This seems to happen with other racks depending on the kayak itself. Which has to come in handy after a long day of being on the water with a wet kayak.
The Hull-A-Port also includes the bow and stern tie downs as well as the straps to secure the kayak to the roof rack. I confirmed with Thule this carrier is also a confirmed fit for your 2016 Subaru factory roof rack and crossbar.
I have linked all the above mentioned products as well as a few review videos to this page for your purchasing convenience.
