What is the Best Trailer Hitch for Ground Clearance on a 2015 Chrylser Town and Country
Question:
What is the best hitch for a 2015 Chrysler Town and Country? I have a Curtis 13389 on my 2005 TandC and it seems to drag when I back out of the driveway. I would prefer something that doesnt hang down so low. All I am using this for is to mount a Thule 2inch bike rack. Is the 75579 a good unit and does it hang a little less lower than the Curtis?

The Curt Class III Trailer Hitch, # 13364, and the Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch, # 75579, actually have the exact same ground clearance on a 2015 Chrysler Town and Country (11" from the ground). These hitches also have the same weight capacities and they will look the same once installed.
For your situation, I recommend installing the Draw-Tite hitch because Curt requires the use of a stabilization strap, like # 18050, when using hitch mounted accessories or it will void the warranty. Many people find it to be a hassle to hook a support strap to the top of the rear hatch for a hitch mounted bike rack every trip. The Draw-Tite hitch is also less expensive and you are not sacrificing quality or capacity.
The one downside to the Draw-Tite hitch is that it requires about 1-1/2" more for bumper clearance for accessories such as your bike rack. You must have more than 5-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of your bike rack to clear the bumper (see photo). The Curt hitch only requires 4 inches of clearance, so if this is not an obstacle for you, the Draw-Tite hitch will be your best bet.
