Why Would Stoplight Circuit Wire on 2010 Chevy Silverado for Brake Controller Not have Voltage
Question:
My 2010 Chevy Silverado Z71 pickup blue wire under the dash has no power when I hit the brakes from the vehicle. Should that wire have power when I press the brakes or does my e-brake have to be installed to make it work? If its supposed to have power when I hit the brakes on my vehicle where would the fuse be within my vehicle to check it?

Under the dash of your 2010 Chevy Silverado the wire that would have the brake signal for the red wire of a brake controller would be either light blue or orange in color. If the wire you have found is dark blue it would be for the blue wire of the controller and would not ever see voltage unless wired to a brake controller.
If the wire you have found is the correct stoplight circuit wire you would need to check the CHMSL fuse as that would be the most likely blown one.
I attached a help article on the install of brake controllers on Chevy trucks like yours.
