Replacement Brake Assembly Recommendation for 1997 MasterCraft 20 ft Boat

Question:

Data: 1997 MasterCraft 20foot boat, tandem trailer UFP Model A-60 actuator w/ manual lockout 10inch x 2.25inch drum brakes, single servo Hub seal: 2.330inch hub x 1.687inch spindle x 0.532inch thick. no readable part number. Inner bearing: L68149 on 1.377inch spindle Outer bearing: L46649R on 1.061inch spindle Existing drums can be machined within specified limits. Existing bearings and races are perfect. Questions: 1. Are the complete backing plate assemblies No. 18787 and 18788 the correct replacement for the OEM brakes? 2. Can I upgrade to self-adjusting assemblies No. DMSB24428M and DMSB24429M without any other equipment or parts changes? 3. Is the Titan Galphorite backing plate assembly No. T4445300 durable for freshwater boat trailer use? The listed part is a RH assembly, but I could not find a corresponding LH assembly. Is it available? 4. Is the Redline hub seal No. 168233 the correct replacement for the OEM seal? 5. There is no evidence of master cylinder leakage, but if it is required, do you have a replacement master cylinder or rebuild kit for this OEM system?

Since your trailer has 10 inch by 2-1/4 inch brake assemblies currently all of the assemblies you mentioned are going to work. I would go with the sefl-adjusting part numbers # DMSB24428M and # DMSB24429M though since you mentioned you were interested in that option.

The matching Titan assemblies are part # T4423500 for the left hand side and part # T4423400 for the right hand side.

Based on the seal dimensions you listed the part # 168233 is the correct replacement.

We don't carry a replacement UFP brand master cylinder.
