Recommended Snow Chains for 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

Question:

We have a 2014 mercedes sprinter roadtrek ss agile. We are planning to head east from Colorado this coming winter. My concern is I want to be able to get out of the mountains to a southern route east to PA and then to FL. Then returning to CO want to ensure I can get home. Tires are Michelin LTX m/s in 245/75/16 E rated. Would these be a good chain to have on board?

The Konig Premium Tire Chains # TH02230K77 are a confirmed fit on the 245/75-16 size tires on your 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. These chains are the low-profile S Class type that is required for many passenger vehicles that could have limited clearance in the wheel wells.

These chains will be far easier to use than many, since they include features like automatic tension control and a quick-release. They are suitable for on-road use only.

I reviewed the online edition of the owner's manual for your 2014 Sprinter and on page 289 it indicates that tire chains can be used on the rear tires only, and only up to a speed of 30-mph. No reference is made to specific tire sizes or to types of tire chains so it is a good idea to review your printed manual in case there is specific information related to your particular van's equipment.
