Thanks for the information on your 2013 Work and Play Forest River. In my research of your Toy Hauler, I found that your gross weight capacity is around 10,000lbs. This lines up to your dry hitch weight of 1,138lbs, putting you in the loaded tongue weight ballpark of 1,138-1,500lbs. To choose the right weight distribution it will be based on loaded tongue weight which is typically between 10-15% of the trailer and anything in addition to that loaded behind the rear axle.

A great weight distribution for this weight range is the Reese Strait-Line # RP66130. This system doesn't include a shank so that you can select one that will work for your lifted height. Like the Pro Series # RP63971 shank with 6-1/2 inches of drop and 1,500lbs tongue weight capacity. The Reese Strait-Line prevents sway before it starts. It uses a dual cam sway control which is the most effective on the market, because it applies constant pressure to realign your trailer behind your tow vehicle. It is lighter than many of the other systems and has a more effective sway control than other systems.

The Strait-Line recommended above will also require a hitch ball with the 1-1/4 inch shank for your trailer. Two of the most common sizes of hitch balls on trailer are the 2 inch # A-90 and 2-5/16 inch # 19286.

To determine which rise or drop is correct for your particular setup you will want to measure, I have linked a Help Article on how to do this for you to check out. Basically you will measure from the top of your hitch receiver to the ground and then from the bottom of the coupler to the ground and this will give you the drop you will need. (hitch height - trailer height = drop)

When pulling a trailer with brakes you will need to have a brake controller to actuate the brakes. I like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 because it is a proportional brake controller which means it senses how the tow vehicle is slowing or stopping and applies the trailer's brakes with the same intensity. It also has a full display screen instead of codes that need deciphering. Depending on which wiring package you have a will determine which wiring for the brake controller you will need. The brake controller adapter for the 2005 Dodge with the factory 7-way for the P3 is the # 3020-P, if you have a factory 4-way you will also need the # ETBC7 to complete the wiring setup. If your vehicle didn't come with any factory wiring you will need the 4-way # 118381 and the 7-way adapter # ETBC7

I have linked all the mentioned products as well as a few Help Articles and videos to this page for your convenience.
