Comparison Of Curt And Draw-Tite Trailer Hitches Installation On 2015 Acura RLX
Question:
Please advise if both of the hitches you sell for the Acura RLX have been designed for or actually installed on that car - plus I note they are quite different. Can you advise which to purchase if it is only being used to carry a bike rack with about 100 pounds plus weight of rack. Thanks.

There is a pretty big difference between the Curt, part # C12120 and Draw-Tite part # 36541 trailer hitch installation.
I have attached links to the installation for both of these hitches you can check out. For the Curt hitch trimming of the heat shields is required when installing.
For the Draw-Tite the fascia is removed and also trimmed. With the trimming of the fascia, less of the hitch will be visible, and that is more appealing to many customers.
It is really a matter of aesthetics and preference for the customer. Both hitches have the same towing capacity and have the same size receiver opening of 1-1/4 inches. The Curt hitch has a 350-lb tongue weight capacity compared to the Draw-Tite tongue weight capacity of 300-lbs.
The Curt hitch does require a stabilizing strap like part # 18050 for all non-trailer loads and that can make it really difficult to find a place to attach the strap on a vehicle. For that reason I recommend the Draw-Tite part # 36541 for your Acura.
