To begin, you will need to install base plate kit # 521627-1 on your 2009 Hyundai Elantra Touring.

The Roadmaster Falcon all-terrain tow bar # RM-522 would be a good choice for your application, as it is rated to tow up to 6,000lbs and is easy to hook up on uneven ground.

I would recommend Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154 to wire your RV and vehicle for towing. The # RM-154 page shows some wiring diagrams that should be helpful for your installation.

If your Elantra has separate turn and tail lights, this kit would make your brake lights function as both brake and turn, but you could make the brake and turn lights work separately using tail light converter # 118158, and 2 extra diodes, part # RM-792.

If your RV is already wired to tow, you could also use a magnetic tow light setup like part # RM-2120 for a 4-Way flat plug. If you would prefer to hardwire the Elantra permanently for towing, you would use diode kit # 38955, as well as the parts # 118158 and # RM-792 as I mentioned above, if the vehicle has separate tail and turn lights.

Even Brake portable braking system # RM-9400 would be a good addition to your setup, as it will allow your vehicle braking to be more in sync with the motor home braking.

I would recommend using 8,000 pound safety cables # RM-645.

I have linked some additional information below on the tow bar and wiring I recommended, as well as a video showing a typical base plate installation.
