Is a Trailer Hitch Easy to Remove from a 2013 Toyota Prius that was in an Accident
Question:
Hi. Unfortunately my 2013 Prius was totaled in a recent accident. We purchased the car used, with the hitch already installed, and recently purchased a cargo carrier that Id love to be able to use on our next car which most likely will be a Prius. Is it easy to remove the hitch? Thanks!

You have to be careful because if the vehicle was in an accident the hitch could also be damaged even if it does not appear to be. I recommend going with a new hitch.
Removal of the hitches for the 2013 Toyota Prius is easy since it just directly to the frame. You would just remove the hardware and pull off the hitch.
If you are able to determine that the hitch is still fine, not damaged, then if you reuse it you will need to replace the hardware with # RHK. The hardware is meant to only be torqued down once so that is why you cannot reuse the hardware. On the RHK page you just enter the hitch number and choose the manufacturer to get the correct hardware.
