Question:
I have a 2012 bmw that has a wet weight of 400 lbs, would the SMC 600 work? Id hook up to the dealer installed hitch on my 2004 Chevrolet Suburban LS 1500. Thanks,

The Ultra-Fab Motorcycle Carrier # UF48-979033 has a 500-lb load rating so it is up to the task of transporting your 2012 BMW that weighs 400-lbs.
The hitch on your 2004 Chevrolet Suburban needs to have a tongue weight (TW) rating high enough for the combined weight of your bike and the carrier that will hold it. The Ultra-Fab carrier weighs about 50-lbs, so together with your 400-lb motorcycle, you're looking at a total load on the hitch of approximately 450-lbs.
The lowest-rated hitch we offer for your 2004 Chevrolet Suburban is a Class III hitch from Curt, part # C13422, rated for 600-lbs of TW. Every other 2-inch hitch we offer for your vehicle is rated higher than this and would have enough capacity for the bike and carrier. Just take a quick check of your hitch safety sticker to confirm that it has a TW rating higher than the items' combined weight, and also check your Suburban owner's manual to confirm that it's TW rating is high enough for that same total weight.
I suggest a set of ratcheting tie downs, part # EM34420, to secure the BMW to the carrier.
