Yakima Spare Ride Long Stem Recommendation
Question:
It seems that my Toyota Dolphin spare tire is too wide for even the Long Tongue provided with the Yakima Spare Ride. The owners manual says that some wheels may require you use a different length tongue, but does not say if or where one may be available. I need an additional 2-3 inches longer than the long tongue provided. Any ideas where I might find one?

Your SpareRide rack should have came with three different length stems. A small, medium, and a large. The part # 8890241 is the replacement long stem. It measures 6-1/2 inches in length.
If the longer one you have is shorter than this then it would be the medium and this would be longer than what you currently have.
Other than that there isn't anything I can recommend to allow the rack to fit your vehicle.
