Does your Envoy Denali have the tow package with the 7-way trailer connector on the rear of the vehicle?
If so, you would just use the loose tow package wires that are already located under the dash. The circuits involved are already circuit protected, no additional circuit breaker is required. We have an installation video showing how to locate the tow package wiring and how the wires would match up with your brake controller. I will provide a link to the video below.
If your Envoy does not have the tow package and no existing trailer connector, the wiring under the dash will not be present. You will have to hardwire the controller using our Brake Controller Install Kit, part # ETBC6 for a 6-way connector or ETBC7 for a 7-way connector. The install kit contains everything necessary to install the controller, except for the necessary 4-pole connector part # 118384 for accessing the lighting circuits on the vehicle.
The install kit includes both the 20 and 30 amp breakers, if your trailer has 2-4 brakes, use the 20 amp. If the trailer has 6-8 brakes, use the 30 amp breaker.
We have a brake controller install guide that will walk you through the process of installing a controller using the install kit. I will link you to this below as well.
